From the Desk of Kateryn
A Small Favor
I'm going to ask for something, and I'll keep it short.
If your reader finished The Mirror: Basic Training, would you leave a review?
It doesn't need to be long. Two sentences is plenty. Reviews are how a new book gets found. They help the stores decide who to show it to, and they help a parent standing in an aisle decide whether it's right for their kid.
The most useful reviews answer a question another parent actually has:
- How old is your reader, and did it hold their attention? - Did they read it alone, or did you read it together? - Is it scary? (It's tense in places. Nobody gets hurt in a way that would keep a ten-year-old up at night.) - Did they ask for the next one?
If your kid wants to write it, that's the best kind. Let them tell you what to say and you post it. Amazon reviews have to come from a grown-up's account.
You can leave one on Amazon, on Goodreads, or both. If you bought it somewhere else, the store's site counts too. So does telling one other family about it.
Thank you, truly. Every single one gets read.
